Every day, the ProgrammableWeb team is busy, updating its three primary directories for APIs, clients (language-specific libraries or SDKs for consuming or providing APIs), and source code samples. If you have new APIs, clients, or source code examples to add to ProgrammableWeb’s directories, we offer forms (APIs, Clients, Source Code) for submitting them to our API research team. If there’s a listing in one of our directories that you’d like to claim as the owner, please contact us at editor@programmableweb.com.
Six APIs have been added to the ProgrammableWeb directory in categories including Motion, Notifications, and eCommerce. Also new to the directory, are SDKs for use with Pocket, App.net and Monitis APIs. Here's a summary of the new additions and how they can aid developers.
APIs
Placemeter turns video and motion sensors into data about traffic in front of physical places, such as retail stores. The Placemeter REST API allows developers to retrieve measurement data, create parameters for data collection, and access metadata. Placemeter API is listed under the Motion category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Motion APIs.
ClickBank is a digital lifestyle marketplace and an affiliate marketing network that delivers products to customers in 190 countries. ClickBank Shipping API allows users to access shipping data by receipt and date in XML format. This API is under the eCommerce category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of eCommerce APIs.
Khipu is a Bolivian payment system that is based on simplified bank transfers. The Khipu API allows developers to create charges and receive payments into their own websites and apps. We've categorized Khipu API under the Payments category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Payments APIs.
AdNail provides API access to other services. The AdNail REST API provides API access for MilAnuncios, TusAnuncios, SegundaMano, and Google Search. This API is listed under the Backend category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Backend APIs.
Paysera provides secured and easy online money transfers via mobile phones. The Paysera Notification API allows developers to receive notifications from account events. Parameters include credit, currency, amount, beneficiary, and payment.
CDYNE creates communication and data solutions including SMS and Voice services. CDYNE's SMS Notify! API allows developers to send text messages worldwide from applications. When the user submits an API request, CDYNE sends the text message to the appropriate aggregator, which delivers the message to the appropriate carrier, which delivers the message to the recipient's cell phone. This API as well as the Paysera API are listed in the Notifications category. See ProgrammableWeb's complete list of Notifications APIs.
SDKs & Libraries
App.net is a real-time social network and social feed without any advertising. Users of App.net get to control their own data.

The App.net API allows developers to access and integrate the functionality of App.net with other applications and to create new applications. Some example API methods include managing account information, creating content, and accessing content feeds. A Ruby SDK, Python SDK, and JavaScript SDK. are provided by App.net for communication with the API to implement authentication and identity capabilities into cross-platform applications.
Monitis is an application monitoring platform. The company provides Monitis REST API to access data and manage account settings without logging into the dashboard. The Monitis Python SDK, PHP SDK, Java SDK, all allow interaction with the API to help developers implement monitoring features into applications.
Pocket is a service that allows users to save articles, videos and more to read or use later. The Pocket API can be used to build a full featured Pocket client for any platform, mashup reading list data, or allow users to save pages to their list from an application. The Pocket Go SDK by independent developer Shu Yang Quek, as well as the company-provided Android and iOS SDKs, allow API access to save URLs.
